This page explains refunds in everyday language. Consumer laws in South Africa (such as the CPA) may give you extra rights—where this policy and the law disagree, the law wins.
1. Hosting, VPS, and domain services
Once a service is provisioned or activated for you (for example a hosting account created, a VPS delivered, a domain registered or transferred in), we do not offer refunds for that billing period simply because you changed your mind. If we fail to provide what you paid for through our fault—serious outage beyond announced maintenance, misconfiguration on our side, or a domain we could not register after payment—we will either fix it, extend your term, or refund the affected portion, at our reasonable choice.
2. Website and software development
Custom work is billed milestone-by-milestone (or as set out in your quote). Deposits and any invoice for work already delivered are not refundable if you cancel for convenience. If we materially fail to deliver an agreed milestone, we will discuss a credit, rework, or partial refund for that milestone—based on what is fair in the situation.
3. Subscriptions (for example newsletter or blog access)
You may cancel at any time from your account or by asking support. We do not refund the current billing period on a pro-rata basis when you cancel mid-cycle—you keep access until the period you already paid for ends. If we stop offering the subscription entirely, we will give notice and either refund unused whole months or migrate you, as described at the time.
4. App purchases on Google Play
Apps we publish on Google Play are sold and refunded under Google’s policies, not this page alone. Use Play’s purchase history and refund tools first. We still help with bugs and account issues through our support channels.
5. Other digital goods from our shop (games, DLC, licence keys)
After you download content or we show a licence key, we normally cannot refund unless the product is faulty or the law requires a remedy. Faulty digital goods: we will repair, replace, or refund within a reasonable period (often up to six months for defects under South African consumer law, where it applies).
6. Physical goods (South Africa only)
Physical items follow the CPA implied warranty (commonly understood as about six months for defects, subject to the Act). You may return eligible items within ten business days where the CPA and this policy allow. Unless the item is defective or we sent the wrong item, you usually pay return shipping.
7. How to ask for a return or refund
Open a support ticket from your account (or email support with your order number, what went wrong, and what outcome you want). We aim to reply within about five business days.
8. What we usually cannot refund
- Change of mind after digital access or a key was issued.
- Fees for time or hosting already consumed.
- Third-party costs we already paid (for example registry fees for domains).
- Abuse of chargebacks—talk to us first; we take fraud seriously.
Where CPA, ECTA, or other mandatory South African consumer law requires a different outcome, we will follow the law.
