Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated

Version 1.2

This policy applies to hosting, VPS, email, and related infrastructure we provide to you. It sits alongside our Terms of Service. If you break these rules we may warn you, throttle you, suspend the service, or end the contract—especially where continuing would put other customers or the public at risk.

1. Who this applies to

Anyone who uses space, CPU, bandwidth, mail, or DNS we allocate—whether you are a hobby site or a business VPS. You are responsible for what your users upload if you allow public uploads.

2. Illegal and seriously harmful use

You may not use our systems to break South African or applicable law. Examples include child abuse material, fraud, trafficking stolen data, running unlicensed gambling where illegal, or hosting instructions whose main purpose is to harm people or systems. We report credible child-safety issues to authorities as required.

3. Network and email

No open relays that let strangers bounce spam through you. No forged headers or deceptive bulk mail. Respect port and SMTP rules we publish. Do not attack, scan, or “pen-test” other people’s networks from our IP space without written permission from the target and from us.

4. Fair resource use

Shared hosting is priced for typical website traffic. Cryptocurrency mining, public file “warez” mirrors, or CPU-heavy background jobs that crowd neighbours may be throttled or blocked. On a VPS you have more freedom, but you must still follow law and this policy; sustained outbound attacks from your VM will get it suspended.

5. Security

Keep software patched. Do not share SSH keys in public tickets. Do not try to break into our control panel or other tenants. Credential stuffing, brute forcing, and malware distribution are banned. We may scan for known malware patterns where industry-standard and proportionate.

Host only content you have rights to use. For takedown notices under South Africa’s Copyright Act, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to find the material.

7. What we can do

Steps may include warning, rate limits, suspension, account closure, and referral to police or regulators. We may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. Shop software licences have their own limits—see the License Policy.

If your use affects regulated sectors or special legal requirements, you remain responsible for ensuring your own legal compliance.
